STOPMOTION, GALA's debut collection, is an ode to the precious nature of nostalgia.
Brought to life by a meticulous process of textile sculpting, before being plunged into baths of metal or enamel, each hand-crafted piece in the collection records a fleeting moment in time, captured and sealed forever. Delicate vintage ribbons, ropes, laces and frills hide within a sturdy armour of metals, resins and automotive enamels, allowing each hand-crafted piece to showcase the soft folds of the original textile in pristine detail.
A unique juxtaposition of old and new, the objects comprising STOPMOTION embody a process of remembrance – an ordinary moment preserved as an extraordinary object.
